Up for sale is a rare and highly collectible vintage Casio Overland W-900 men’s digital sports watch, powered by Module 944. This Japan Domestic Market (JDM) model from the 1990s is known for its rugged, outdoor-oriented design and is increasingly difficult to find—especially in such well-preserved condition with original components. The watch is in fantastic physical condition. The case is exceptionally well-preserved, while the original Casio nylon band shows signs of wear consistent with age. There is also a removable compass attachment on the watchband, which can easily be taken off if desired. The semi-round LCD display is crisp, and all functions are fully operational. The side buttons have some stiffness from age but still respond properly. Features include a stopwatch, countdown timer, dual time, alarm, and a speed/distance calculator—making this a versatile tool for outdoor use. The watch is built for durability with 10BAR water resistance. ► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY

Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
